Why Clean Water Matters
The Water Crisis Affects Us All
Millions of people, especially women and children, spend hours each day collecting water from distant or unsafe sources.
Contaminated water increases the risk of diseases such as cholera, diarrhea, and typhoid. It can prevent children from attending school, reduce household income, and place additional pressure on families.
Access to clean, safe water can break this cycle and create lasting improvements in health, education, dignity, and economic opportunity.

Unsafe water increases the risk of preventable illnesses.

Children may miss school because of illness or the time spent collecting water.

Women and children often travel long distances to collect water.

Communities without reliable water face greater health and economic challenges.

Featured Story
Clean Water, Healthier Children
For years, families in Adom Village depended on an unsafe stream, exposing children like eight year old Kojo to frequent waterborne illness and missed school days. We worked with community leaders and residents to establish a reliable clean-water source close to home, together with practical training in hygiene, sanitation, and safe water storage. The community-led project is helping families protect their health, reduce daily hardship, and give children a better chance to learn and thrive.
